Mixed Media Collage Sketch 01
Hi! Everyone, the blog for today shows my latest approach to my work. I have been using Mixed Media collage techniques to bring about a loosening in my creative art process. I get hung up on the colours I should use. This approach allows me to work small scale which allows for creating multiple pieces very quickly and I am also able to assess my process more intimately, from above. You can see the process on my YouTube channel, link here,https://youtu.be/Wo_eHUpmMRM
I used the following tools:
Watercolour paper
Watercolour
Pencil hb
Tissue paper
Glue stick
Ink pen
Craft papers
Gesso
Scrap papers
Cat Balance – Beatrice Ajayi – Scottish Artist
Hello on this dry Wednesday. I have had a busy day planning strategies for my Business. I think it will involve some detailed thinking. I really am blessed with how far I have been able to achieve dreams, but there is still some more dreaming left.
I have been doing my usual research looking and reading and video watching on the tube for teaching on reaching more people who would really appreciate my work. Every artist has to think of this so I don’t feel awkward talking about it. It’s all part of running the buisness.
Outside of all the above I have been sketching and painting on my iPad and pen on paper. This cat digital painting is entitled ‘Cat Balancing’. You can view the process here: Cat Balance Video
Latest work on my Facebook page at Beatrice Ajayi Artist
Hi everyone, these are some pieces I did today. They are my latest work. I am trying to get the light carefree look I get with my digital work. I also don’t want them dark in the background. They have been fun to create. The girl with the presents might be my 2013 Christmas card to everyone this year. I have decided to design one card a year that I give to everyone. They are drawn on used Christmas cards. I asked friends to give them to me instead of throwing them away. As long as they had no sentiment they wanted to keep of course.
The Tear Jar – by Beatrice Ajayi
These are some work in progress. More inking then painting begins. These have already got one layer of gesso and an ink/acrylic mix. So that the paint won’t tear the thin paper I have adhered to the cardboard.
The coloured pieces are examples of some I have already started painting, with layers of coloured gesso laced through out. The colour piece on the left is called ‘The Tear Jar’
Week by Week Art – Beatrice Ajayi 22/04/13
Hi everyone, hope you had a great weekend, I know I did, and am ready to continue the week on the same train. I blogged last week about my new project week by week art. So here is the first Pic of the week. This work is entitled ‘The Empress and herDaughters’ it’s a piece I drew along time ago on watercolour paper. It was black and white, but for the purpose of my week by week art, I coloured the background as a start towards finishing the piece by the end of this week.
i still doubt myself far too much when it comes to painting in colour especially my figurative work. Hope to have a progress pic tomorrow. At the end of the week I will upload it to my shop on etsy. See you soon.

I have been working on some new ideas for paintings recently. I am still trying to get my black and white drawings into coloured paintings. I have done a variation of these little characters, I like the ideas I am coming up with. There are so many ways to approach this style. I will have to keep going till I find one I am happy with. This image is of a very delicate Empress. She is done in water colour and pencil. She has a bird house inside her hair. It looks warm and cosy. I wonder if the bird minds been evicted each time she has to take it down for bed, she can’t sleep like that surely!:)
