Weekly Artist Art Vlog no.19 | Art is Like Cake | Artist Studio Practice | Artwork | #youtube

Hi and welcome to my website Blog .

If you have not been here on my  site before, hello, it’s awesome to meet you.

My name is Beatrice Ajayi. I am an artist, creative, illustrator and published author. I love to use a range of mediums in my artwork.

You will find me working on a range of pieces both digitally and traditionally.

In this video today I am – sharing my latest thoughts and perceptions on myself and my art, an introspective if you will. I have decide my new working title is ‘Multidisciplinary Artist’. I have used this as a job desk in the past and my biography language. But I have realised more and more that it is a more true title of my approach as an artist.

I am currently in the process of decluttering my studio ( a constant issue) I am trying to reimagine art and products I created years ago and asking if they have a place in my life.

This has led to my discussion in the video I have for you today. i am conscious of the pressure to give my best, I therefore am trying to make sure i am feeding my creative tank with new inspiration and have decided on a path to follow. The path of eating as much came as possible ( or to paraphrase, to create as much art as I am inspired to, through the process of storytelling)

As a creative and maker being able to generate work that you love and can elate others needs some investment and i want to be able to bring that into my process. I use a lot of processes. I try out something and if it doesn’t work I reimagine it and give it new life. Thank you for reading this far if you have. Please do subscribe, so that more people can see these videos and we can all feed our creativity together through our interactions.

A Year of Abstraction

Hi folks, I finally got round to posting my first post here on my website for 2019. It only took me til March to do it!!👀

I have been absolutely loving creating abstract paintings over the last number of months.

I wanted to zoom into the worlds in the background of my brave and courageous characters.

So this year my focus is to create abstract landscapes.

While at uni I focused on abstraction and mark making. So it has been awesome to dive back in.

It is called Peeka Boo Empress. She has a rather extravagant hairdo.

I am having fun using my digital colouring software.
All prints make amazingly unique and Original gifts. I intend to order some prints from a giclee printer in Edinburgh soon, and may give some away.

Well I am off to do some more creating.

Artist of the Week – Stella Im Hultberg

Hi folks, it has been a while since I did my artist of the week segment, so here it is, Stella Im Hultberg is based in Brooklyn New York. She uses Oils and pens amongst some other mediums. I love her sketch books, it just takes me back to my uni days. I do do sketches but I haven’t been limiting them to specific sketch books, though looking at her books is tempting to try it again. She puts alot of sweat into her pieces, as can be seen while looking at her progress pieces. My main appeal of her work is her style. Through her figurative work she introduces a rich mix of colours. Never having seen her work in real life, my feeling is that the characters would shimmer of the canvas or wood, inviting you to enter their world. Have a look at her site for more insight to her work at www.stellaimhultberg.com

Artist of the Week – Kelly Vivanco

Hi everyone, Hope you had a great weekend. Mine was quiet busy, but all good fun time relaxing with friends. My artist for this week is Kelly Vivanco. You can link to her website here. Kelly works on her lovely paintings using acrylics. She has really mastered her technique and style. She paints cute little characters from frogs to squirrels. She also paints figurative narratives emersed in sublime worlds with streaming plants of sometimes unusual pigmentation. I like her work alot. Link to her site and have an adventure.

Artist of the week – Ana Bagayan

I have been thinking lately that I will start to list artists on my site. I like a variety of artist styles and talents. I am starting with Ana Bagayan. If you click here it links to her site. Ana’s work is surreal. She puts alot of long hours in to produce her pieces. She works in Pencil, ink and oils. You can watch her working on some of her pieces on her site.
