Valentine’s Day is Coming
Hi everyone hope your day has been wonderful. I realised recently after looking around in posts and ads on TVs that Valentines day is coming. I decided to try and do a collection of 30 images for greeting cards. Let’s hope I can print them on time. To post off to individuals who want them. Here is my first I am working on, entitled ‘Sail Away With Me’. Spk soon. 🙂

Angler Fish is My Favourite Animal
Morning, I thought I would share the art process for this little Angler a Fish. This is a digital painting done completely in procreate and my approach in colouring him in is slightly different. I usually use the colour black to sketch.
Image 1: I used a mustard colour to do the basic sketch of my little character. The animals in the favourite animal series Vary in size and I always try to make them flow together, the child and animal.
Image 2: here I start to add the colour of the fish. It’s a kind of rust brown. My research revealed different dark tones that the angler fish has. I really liked this warmer colour. Once I know what colours I am using. It starts to create adventurous associate colours.
Image 3: for some reason a turquoise blue popped into my head. I tend to expand to the range of shades within a colour group. So in my next picture I add other blues to that particular section.
Image 4: I have added the skin tone. The rustic brown is also on the lower body area now and it’s all about tying it all together.
Image 5: the Finished artwork. I have tried to take on the persona of the boy in tandem with the expected awkwardness and ugliness of the Angler Fish.
This is a video of the process on YouTube.

Latest work on my Facebook page at Beatrice Ajayi Artist
Hi everyone, these are some pieces I did today. They are my latest work. I am trying to get the light carefree look I get with my digital work. I also don’t want them dark in the background. They have been fun to create. The girl with the presents might be my 2013 Christmas card to everyone this year. I have decided to design one card a year that I give to everyone. They are drawn on used Christmas cards. I asked friends to give them to me instead of throwing them away. As long as they had no sentiment they wanted to keep of course.
New work – 03/07/13 Beatrice Ajayi
I am starting to do my weird and wonderful pieces again. For each new image I want to do short poems or stories. I would really love to illustrate some kids stories I write soon. Doing poems or short stories will get me back into my writing interest again. I want to be able to tell my little ones some bedtime stories with pictures just from mummy. Nite nite

What my current art is about – Beatrice Ajayi 18/06/13
Hi everyone, its been a week or two. I have been keeping myself busy as usual, then I had some access issues but all sorted now, hence my current posting. So one of the things I have been up to lately is thinking about my work and its relevance, I started looking at what I was putting out there. From the recent work posted for sale on my etsy store you will see that I am looking at the area of conservation.
I have always been really into wildlife. I was part of the YOC as a child, young ornithologist club, and still spot the birds till now. So I was also thinking of when I was a lot younger and what I thought of the wildlife and natural habitats around the world.
So this current collection which will probably go on for a while because I have a large list of research animals and natural objects I want to depict through a child’s eye. They are the future and I think they should have a say. It is a lot of fun creating these pieces. Definitely takes me back to my childhood. So check out my etsy shop for more of these cute nature kids. Nite nite
